Travis wins Super Bowl Major
Duncan wins TOC
Travis Green, playing in his first SPT event, won the largest SPT event in history, 29 players.
The day started, however, with the 2005 Tournament of Champions. Duncan got a late invite as Bill Killian was not
able to make it. He quickly made it worthwhile, building up a chip stack and outlasting Waisner to get heads up with McDaniel.
WIth nearly identical stacks, they got all the money in on a J-7-4 flop. Duncan showed J-2, but McDaniel had 7-4 for two pair.
The 7 on the turn gave McDaniel a full house, but the river Jack gave Duncan the bigger full house. He won on the next hand,
and is the 2005 winner of the Tournament of Champions!
The main event was a record turnout. 29 players started the
event, forcing 4 tables into action. 8 of the players were in their first ever SPT event. Action was crazy, with many suck
outs and tough calls. However, due to technical difficulties, no specific hands were recorded.
Travis Green won first place, taking home $398 and 449 points. Jim McDaniel was second, winning $249 and 291 points.
David Narayan was third (in his first SPT cash), winning $199 and 221 points. Jon Mangrum was fourth, winning $100 and 179
points. Barry Bonillo was fifth, winning $50 and 151 points.
The next event will be held at Waisner's house, and will be limited to a maximum of 18 players due to space limitations.
